This semester, although extremely painstaking for me and not so enjoyable in some areas, was a blast because this class made the end of my weeks so much more fun and creative. As I said in my final project, I made a final project that I would like to reflect on in the near future or otherwise as something I have pride for, that I enjoyed, and was a light in the tunnel during this pandemic. This class has been fantastic for my well-being in general, and I look forward to using the skills I learned this semester and in this class for the things in the rest of my life. I hope all of you have a great summer and here’s to a life without a pandemic!
Man, this week has been tough trying to come up with ideas for a final project that would equal the amount of work of a 30 star assignment. While I don’t think I’ll come up with anything that will satisfy all my needs and fulfillment for this project, I think I have decided on doing the idea outlined on the post with the projectideas tag, but with a spin on it. I kind of want to do like a scavenger hunt with video, photo, audio, and etc. where it’s like a scavenger hunt through “my story.” I think it would be an interesting idea to incorporate all the forms of media we have learned about this semester, and also be an interactive project that takes you on a journey. I don’t know, something to think about!! Guess you’ll have to see how it turns out when I submit my project next week 🙂
This week was also pretty enjoyable! It’s interesting to go back to a previous assignment I’ve already done to do something completely the opposite or something different, and the mashups and remixes were a cool part of editing across all platforms! The mashup assignments (1, 2) and remix assignments (1, 2) were pretty cool to complete, and I learned a few new things about photoshop and photo editing that I would have never known without doing some of these mashups. Overall, this week was great! You can find my TDCs below.
This week was also a ton of fun to complete in terms of assignments. The future in terms of the final project is really looking bright for the ideas that I came up with or proposed for what I would like to do, and I really enjoyed making the video assignments (1,2) that were assigned as a part 2 of last week. Those projects required a little bit of video and audio editing, but it was in the end worth it as I marveled at the ridiculousness of my commercial and laughed at how boring my life is with the POV assignment. This week was a less work than I originally thought it would be, but still a lot of fun and a little bit tasking. You can find my TDCs above. Overall, great week!
I really enjoyed this week overall. I found doing the assignments for this week not too tasking in terms of workload, but also a lot of fun to complete and it gave me a chance to be creative in what I wanted to show on my blog for this class, specifically there were a lot of assignment bank assignments (1, 2, 3) that really highlights some passion projects of mine that I really enjoyed and loved to complete. The video essay on the title sequence in Baby Driver was also a lot of fun to complete as I love the movie and learning about what makes for good video editing was a fantastic part of this week that a learned a lot about. Overall, this week was very enjoyable and I look forward to doing something similar next week! You can find my TDCs below.
This week was a much needed break from the time consumption that this class really does well at achieving for me. Apart from that much needed break with the reduced workload I found it a lot of fun to listen to mine and other’s radio shows and take part in the tweet along for it! I also really enjoyed reworking some past assignments (1, 2) that were, in my opinion, heavily outdated. I think the ideas and brainstorm I did with my project ideas could be a fun way to explore these upcoming weeks, but I guess we’ll just have to see! This week was again a lot of fun and making the story out of my TDCs was also so much fun!
Oh boy, this week was probably my least favorite out of all of them. It was such a struggle trying to find a time with a group of four to record the radio show with, and the HCC struggles we encountered along the way as mentioned in the radio show post did not help either. The audio editing, while I usually find it okay and fun, was not particularly exciting and rewarding to do, as I was just listening to what I had already experienced and recorded over and over again trying to insert sounds in the correct places. Honestly, was not too bad but was not very fun. My TDCs can be found below.k
This week was a lot of fun to complete. Not only is the prospect of creating a whole segment of a radio show very exciting but also the design element and the audio assignments (1, 2) that will help craft the radio show were a lot of fun to complete. I am super excited to get this radio show done and am very anxious to see the finished result, I am sure it will be a lot of fun to complete and a lot of good work to see! This week was interesting to say the least. I think the most enjoyable part about this week was watching the youtube videos and listening to how graphic design is really an art form and a science and writing a commentary on Kidd’s work. I enjoyed the design blitz and it was really insightful and cool to observe how almost everything we see around us has design elements about it. The design assignments (1, 2, 3, 4) from this week were also a lot of fun, and I enjoyed playing around with photoshop more. Here’s to graphic design! You can find my TDCs below.
This week was a doozie! I will admit this week was a lot of work and audio storytelling I can already tell is going to be my hardest form of storytelling to master, but overall this week was a lot of fun! I think my favorite assignment out of this week was the tweet along radio show, it was just so much fun to analyze the different ways the show used sound effects effectively yet subtly. I think listening to “Moon Graffiti” and doing the radio bumper for the ds106 radio were also a lot of fun to do and respond to. The assignment bank assignments (1, 2, 3) were also really fun to complete, admittedly the worst sounds assignment proved to be a struggle with the inability to shield my ears from such wretched sounds. I also like the prospect of a radio talk show that we brainstormed on this week, it seems like an interesting and overall incredibly interesting and creative assignment and I’m really looking forward to it. Overall, although I will probably not be nearly the best at audio storytelling and editing and will probably never get there, it was a lot of fun trying out that new stuff and I look forward to doing the work for this class each week!
